Peggy Levison Nolan exhibition at Dina Mitrani Gallery.
This is an exhibition that I highly recommend for all the visual artists specially rite now that we are working in the WARP Book. This exhibition is a collection of found photographies. The artist didn't shoot this picture but she selected them according to what she was trying to convey. Most of the photos were founded by her at thrift stores and also at old albums that people around her would share with her. There is definitely an element of appropriation happening throughout all the images she collected because even is she didn't take them she felt related to them and wanted to put them together to create a dialogue between different time periods documented on these photos.
Robert Huff's work at the Freedom Tower MDC Museum of Art and Design. I felt his work was very broad in the sense of using and collaborating with many materials. Even if from close it looks like lot of things are happening it is very organize and structural. I believe the serene and still characteristics of his art pieces comes from the use of the black or dark grey applied in geometric shapes.
Locust Project Artist Talk I went on Saturday August 29.
Artist Michael Namkung talked about the importance of physical training to create his performance art pieces which the majority are ephemeral and documented.

Jediah Caesar talked about his creative process saying how fundamental was to get advantage of local sources (such as rocks in South Florida) to develop a body of work for his installations.
